Join Our Team for the Fall Turnaround across Alberta
FLINT is seeking a team of dedicated and experienced HSE Advisors to play a crucial role in the success of our upcoming turnarounds.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will define and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment policies and practices across all company activities. Your primary focus will be on-site safety, leading and supporting safety activities and initiatives.
As the HSE Advisor, you will actively resolve safety issues, conduct compliance assessments, review incident reports, and maintain safety-related documentation. Your expertise in safety management systems and exceptional communication skills will make you invaluable in delivering safety messages, facilitating safety meetings, and interacting with clients and FLINT team members.
Our turnaround sites are located in:
Carseland, Anzac, Grande Prairie, Redwater, Conklin.
What would you be doing?
- Leading and supporting the safety activities and initiatives undertaken within FLINT.
- Promoting and ensuring safety compliance in all areas of responsibility and actively resolving safety issues or concerns.
- Reviewing accident/ incident reports for correctness and completeness.
- Conducting periodic checks to assess compliance with FLINT's HSE standards.
- Evaluating inspection reports to identify unsatisfactory performance trends.
- Prepare monthly safety performance statistics and circulate them to line management.
- Issuing and circulating environmental/safety literature to enhance and maintain awareness.
- Supporting field injury reports and promptly forwarding copies to the HSE program coordinator/ WCB administrator.
- Monitoring and supporting investigation reports, environmental incident reports, medical or first aid cases and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed.
- Actively participating in leadership site safety reviews and worksite observation.
- Ensuring submissions and follow-ups are completed and documented within requested timeframes per company standards.
- Completing with quality all key performance indicators (KPIs) listed on the corporate KPI matrix and the area additions. Report and document as required.
- Auditing competency training.
Does this sound like you?
- 3-5 years in a safety advisor position or experience in a similar role.
- Turnaround experience is an asset.
- Valid Safety Tickets: CSTS 2020 and H2S Alive.
- Fall Protection, AWP and Confined Space Entry are an asset.
- Maintain safety KPIs for T/A.
- Review and maintain safety-related documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and solve complex issues.
- Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and achieve quality standards.
- Must be familiar with industrial safety management systems.
- Fully skilled with organizing and setting own priorities; meets deadlines.
- High School minimum (or equivalent) with other college or University diploma or certificate preferred.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
- Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job, including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.

- Competitive pay. Your compensation will be based on your inspection certificate level, cumulative skills, and work experience.
- Schedule and travel will vary depending on the site.
- 12-hour shifts, OT after 8 hours.
- Eligibility for Benefits: After accumulating just 300 work hours, you become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
- Based on project location LOA or Camp Accommodations, Travel Reimbursement, Night Shift Premiums offered.

This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position and will require completion of a drug and alcohol testing.
