Job Description

FLINT is growing and is looking for highly organized individuals to work in Project Controls. In this role you are responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling various aspects of the project to ensure its successful execution. Responsibilities in this role may vary based on the specific needs and complexity of the project but you will play a critical role in project success by providing accurate data, monitoring project performance, identifying risks, and facilitating decision-making processes.

 

This is an expression of interest in building our pool of Senior Project Controls Specialists for project work on client sites. We welcome all applicants from across Canada!

 

What would you be doing?

  • Responsible for controlling and monitoring total project expenditure.
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support including variation reporting, progress monitoring, preparation of customer billing processes, etc.
  • Monitor project activity scheduling and costing to ensure targets are being met.
  • Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports using project management systems. 
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery and completion of the project work.
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with the project management team and external clients.
  • Perform project costing-related reporting to the team and management; review on an as needed basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget. 
  • Support program and project controls functions, including daily cost capture and reporting. Utilize the program KPI’s and actual man-hours to estimate daily costs.
  • Report when PO’s have reached flag limits and when budgeted costs have reached flag limits. 
  • Responsible for cost analysis (actual vs budget), and man-hour productivity (earned vs burned) reporting.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers as necessary to ensure proper PO and SO administration, costing, invoicing and close out.
  • Subcontractor progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Coordinate with field clerks and data entry clerks daily to ensure data input and data compilation is completed for daily reporting deliverables.
  • Reporting and reconciliation as required. Interface with various stakeholders (client, field execution team, project controls team, etc.).

Does this sound like you?

  • Minimum of 15 years’ + experience in a Project Cost Controls role.
  • Experience in the Oil Gas industry, Industrial Construction and/or Fabrication is an asset. 
  • You have excellent communications skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Highly organized, efficient and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information as required.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Previous background could be from IT, Project Controls, Construction, and/or Accounting.
