Job Description

FLINT Fabrication Shop is seeking a proficient Shop Foreperson to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing our fabrication operations. This Permanent position works from Monday to Thursday in FLINT's Airdrie, AB Shop.

 

What would you be doing?

  • Organize and administer staff duties and training to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Manage workforce performance and address disciplinary issues, employing creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Assist with takeoffs and estimates for projects.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and timelines for various clients.
  • Maintain shop supply and inventory, providing regular reports on daily progress.
  • Lead by example in safety and quality, adhering to FLINT's expectations.

Does this sound like you?

  • Have supervisory experience in a Fabrication shop is an asset. 
  • Have your Journeyperson Welder Certification. 
  • B-Pressure certified.
  • Have SS tig / stick (F6F5) and SS wire (F6).
  • Have CSTS20, First Aid.
  • Forklift and Overhead crane knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Know and understand metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filler rods.  
  • Know and understand the welding equipment involved in various procedures. 
  • Proficient in computer skills; advanced MS Office experience preferred. 
  • Have physical strength, stamina, and proper lifting techniques.    
  • Are adaptable and can work in a team environment .   
  • Have safety as a top priority.   
  • Able to read and understand complex instructions.
