Job Description

FLINT is hiring Journeyperson Electricians for our upcoming Turnaround in Fort McMurray, AB. This turnaround is scheduled to run from May 15 through the end of June, and pre-work opportunities will be available in April.  

 

It is a fly-in, fly-out (from Edmonton or Calgary) or local role, working a 7 on-7 off rotation for prework and then moving to a 6/1 rotation for Turnaround. These are 11.5-day shifts working on an averaging arrangement.  

 

What would you be doing?  

  • Learning FLINT and their client's safety and quality systems, standards and procedures
  • Reading and interpreting, and communicating electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings
  • Installing, replacing, and repairing electrical systems and related electrical equipment
  • Lock out tag out / Receiver saving
  • Electrical heat trace troubleshooting, removal, and re-installation
  • Temporary power support
  • Testing circuits to ensure integrity, reliability and safety
  • Progress, safety and quality reporting

  • Have a Journeyperson Electrician or Apprentice Electrician certificate
  • Have high regard for personal safety and the safety of others
  • Want to work in an environment where you are respected and treated with dignity
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision 
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines
  • Common Safety Orientation (Energy Safety Canada) required 
  • Valid H2S Alive or Awareness required 
  • ESTS (Alberta Construction Safety Association) or Arc Flash Awareness training required 
  • Fall protection, AWP, Confined Space, First Aid, Leadership for Safety Excellence, or other trade-related tickets or certifications an asset
  • Industrial Maintenance or turnaround experience an asset
